HENRIK PRYDS BECK
(DK)
Henrik Pryds Beck (b. 1946) is a Danish sculptor, painter, and graphic artist who graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1976. Following his graduation, he was strongly influenced by Fluxus artist Arthur Köpcke, whose experimental approach left a significant mark on his early work.
In the 1970s, Pryds Beck worked with conceptual art and land art, while also exploring the boundaries of artistic expression through film and performance art. During this period, he was one of the initiators of the artist collective Galleri 38, which served as a hub for avant-garde artists.
In the 1980s, his focus shifted to figurative painting, where he became part of the New Wild movement. His works were distinctly influenced by both abstract expressionism and the energetic, impulsive style that characterized this period. Throughout his career, Pryds Beck has exhibited regularly at Stalke Galleri, both in solo shows and group exhibitions.
