Barbara Husar, born in 1975, is an Austrian artist who studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She received the Austrian State Scholarship and is a Hubert-Berchtold Prize laureate. Her art explores the flow of information and seeks connections between forms of life, cultures, and media.
The horizon as a relational line is central to Husar's work. She has worked as a goat herder in the Sinai Desert, where she learned from the Bedouins, especially the women who carry forward the ancient nomadic culture. Infinity, networks, and the search for connections are key themes in her work. She has connected the umbilical cords from her goat flock to create her provisional main work, a hammock, as a metaphor for her process of establishing connections.
Inspired by the concept of artstamp, where selected information travels on analog tracks in unexpected, non-intimate contexts, Husar seeks to share her art universally, as both sender and receiver. Her works are characterized by a unique interaction with reality, where she creates connections between art, life, and information. Barbara Husar has had numerous international exhibitions and is recognized for her extraordinary contributions to the art world.

Stamp editions by Barbara Anna Husar, featuring early conceptual works from 2010 and poetic visual symbols from 2021. The first series includes text and icons reflecting themes of media, mental space, and identity. The later editions depict a red balloon over a dreamlike landscape and anatomical shapes, reinforcing her ongoing exploration of communication, networks, and reality.
