Crossing the Threshold

Christian Falsnaes is a key figure in participatory art, where the audience becomes co-creators of his works. Through clear instructions, he guides them to explore the boundary between obedience and resistance. His performances reveal power dynamics and challenge our understanding of authority, energy, and coercion.

He often creates a threshold between the familiar and the unknown, inviting participants to step out of their comfort zones into a space filled with risk and transformation. Crossing this boundary requires courage, where darkness and danger coexist with discovery and growth.

His art challenges us to question the structures and limits that shape our collective and individual lives.
