(Fin)

Tiina Elina Nurminen is a Finnish artist who uses painting as a way to capture moments and memories. Her work emerges from an intuitive process, where she allows the painting to develop organically, following its direction. With fine lines and layered colors, she creates compositions often focused on everyday scenes and nature. Her works are characterized by a calm depth and a focus on the significance of color and atmosphere.

Nurminen graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 1994 and later studied in Frankfurt under the renowned Danish artist Per Kirkeby. This background is reflected in her approach to color and composition, where structure and spontaneity blend seamlessly.

Her works are included in some of Finland’s most significant art collections, such as those of the Saastamoinen Foundation, the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation, the Espoo Museum of Modern Art (EMMA), and the Helsinki Art Museum (HAM). For more than two decades, she has also exhibited regularly at Stalke Galleri.

Nurminen’s paintings often draw inspiration from nature and everyday life, capturing and amplifying their unique atmospheres. Her art invites reflection and presence, showcasing a subtle interplay of color, form, and experience.
